As you know, there is an app for pretty much anything on the Appstore. Infact, there are over 50,000 iOS apps on the App Store. As there are so many apps now available, it can make it difficult to find some of the better ones. Here are some of our favourites.

4oD

People are constantly on the move. Now, people are constantly on the move with their iPhones or iPads. They have access to a free Wi-Fi hotspot, whether it be on the train they are on or in their high street coffee shop selling a Chai Tea Late that tastes and smells of Christmas. They missed one of their favourite programs last night but have time now to watch it. Channel 4′s 4oD app is one of the most used applications on my iPhone. Apart from the adverts where you would usually find them whilst watching a TV, however, these don’t bother me too much. The application is consistent with its version on the Channel 4 website and is very easy to use.

There is a parental control feature that can be enabled for watching higher age rated programme, such as Shameless and…. You can either accept and play anyway, or if you child likes to go snooping through your phone, you might like to set up a PIN number to access the higher rated programmes.

Overall this programme is very good and as I said earlier, one of my favourites.

Mailchimp

Mailchimp is a great service that allows you to design and send email newsletters. I mean, yeah, you could probably do this by watching a few tutorials on the net about learning inline CSS styles and how to send out hundreds of emails without being blacklisted by your ISP for spamming. Or you could use Mailchimp, let it do all the work and then keep a track on almost everything thats happening with your email. bounce back’s, open and click rates are tracked. You can even see whether someone has clicked on the email! Also, what is probably most important to people is the ability to unsubscribe. No, you don’t exactly want to encourage people to unsubscribe from your newsletter but in fact, it is illegal (correct me if I’m wrong) to send marketing emails without the ability to unsubscribe.
